Genetic Conditions - Information and Support

What are genetic conditions?

Many health or developmental conditions are due to either a variation in our genetic information or a combination of our genetic information and environmental causes such as diet, chemical exposure or lifestyle.

Further Information

For more information on genes and genetic conditions, please consider the following areas of assistance:
• Fact Sheets
• Request an Information Sheet. Please ensure you have searched our online Fact Sheets first.

Support: An A-Z list of genetic condition support groups

• Contact details for associated support and information groups.

Where do I start if I am concerned about a genetic condition?

If you have not already done so, you may like to complete your Family Health History. Once you have completed this, you can take it and discuss it with you family doctor who will recommend whether or not you need to discuss your family health history with a genetic counselling clinic.
